Những hãng màn hình máy tính uy tín thì dù cũ nó cũng sẽ vẫn tốt hơn so với các màn hình máy tính khác không rõ tên tuổi, xuất xứ. Bạn có thể quan tâm đến 3 hãng sau: Panasonic, Dell, Sony, Samsung hoặc LG. Ngoài ra bạn cũng nên chú ý đến loại màn hình, hãy chọn LED hoặc LCD, đừng nên chọn CRT vì màn hình CRT quá cũ rồi, lại tốn nhiều điện nữa.
Đánh giá sơ bộ màn hình cũ
Chú ý đến màu sắc của vỏ máy, hãy dè chừng nếu vỏ màn quá mới hoặc quá cũ. Nếu vỏ màn quá cũ thì khả năng người chủ sẽ thay vào đó bằng vỏ mới tinh. Nếu vỏ đã ngả sang màu vàng có nghĩa nó đã qua sử dụng nhiều rồi. Còn nữa, bạn hãy chú ý đến mặt của màn, đừng chọn loại màn có nhiều vết quá xước.
Kiểm tra năm, xuất xứ
Bạn nên chọn những màn hình được sản xuất từ năm 2012 trở về đây, đừng lấy màn từ năm 2010 hoặc cũ hơn nữa. Thông số về nước và năm sản xuất in đằng sau màn hình phải rõ ràng, sắc nét.
Kiểm tra chi tiết màn hình cũ
Điều quan trọng nhất đó là bạn cần kiểm tra xem màn hình có bị chết điểm ảnh không. Nếu chỉ nhìn bằng mắt thường sẽ rất khó phân biệt, bạn có thể dùng công cụ Dead Pixel Locator để kiểm tra điểm chết trên màn hình. Nếu xuất hiện quá nhiều điểm chết thì chắc chắn màn hình đó không nên mua về.
Các nút tinh chỉnh cho màn hình
Các nút chỉnh màn hình rõ ràng, dễ điều khiển, khẩu độ co giãn đều nhau, góc cạnh không bị méo, nếu có thì phải căn chỉnh ngay được. Việc này bạn cứ từ từ kiểm tra, đừng quá vội vàng
Hãy chú ý đến nút khử từ, thường có dạng hình chữ U hoặc chữ: DEGAUSS. Hãy kiểm tra xem chức năng này có hoạt động tốt không?
Một số loại màn hình có thêm nút khoá điều khiển (control lock), công dụng để khóa không cho trẻ em điều chỉnh màn hình. Việc khóa nó bạn chỉ việc chọn OFF cho CONTROL LOCK, và chọn ON để mở.
Việc tắt mở màn hình
Khi mở màn hình lên, 1 số loại màn hình máy tính cũ có hiện tượng ban đầu hơi rung. Đừng vội vàng kết luận vì điều này, thực tế đó là chức năng khử từ dư, mỗi khi bạn mở màn hình lên sẽ thấy hiện tượng đó. Màn hình mở lên phải sáng, màu sắc trung thực.
